The Alketas decree — prescript ·
Decree heading, non-stoichedon · 373/2 BC (archonship of Asteios) · Acropolis Museum, acr. 1349
The reading text is that of PHI 2319 (epigraphy.packhum.org/text/2319), which transmits the IG II² 101 text; line division, brackets, interpuncts and diacritics stand as PHI prints them, and nothing has been silently altered. Letters outside brackets are read on the stone; letters inside brackets are editorial restorations transmitted with the text. The translation is this edition’s own and is marked as such; the editorial work in text and restorations belongs to the editions cited under Witnesses.

Lemma · 题录
Attica; non-stoichedon; 373/2 BC (PHI lemma). What survives on the stone is the heading of a decree: the archon-date, a genitive naming the honorand, and the prytany and secretary lines. The Acropolis Museum label presents the stone as the honorary decree for Alketas, king of the Molossians of Epirus; the inscribed heading itself names Ἀλκέτας son of Leptines, the Syracusan. This page prints what the stone transmits and records the divergence without resolving it.

Apparatus and notes ·
- 2 Ἀλκέτο τοῦ Λεπτίνο Συρακοσίο The genitive is a heading formula. The museum page (theacropolismuseum.gr) titles the stone as the decree for Alketas king of the Molossians; the heading as PHI transmits it reads Συρακοσίο, “the Syracusan”. Both attach to the same archon-year 373/2. This edition does not adjudicate; the reader should weigh the label against the letters.
- 4 ἐγραμμάτε[υε] The one restoration in the surviving heading, as PHI transmits it.
