Lex metalli Vipascensis

Source-backed working analytical edition of the Vipasca tablets

The full interactive edition is now published at /vipasca/. That reader carries the lineated Latin of both bronzes, a literal English translation and a new Chinese one, the bucketed apparatus, the three interpretive cruxes, and the witness collation. This page is its audit companion: the working record of which clauses the checked PDFs actually support.

Integrity rule. This dossier does not invent a full restored Latin text. It indexes the clauses that are supported by the checked uploaded PDFs, keeps Latin to short lemmata, and treats OCR outputs as collation aids until they are checked against page images.

Edition Status

Document Audit

The audit records uploaded PDFs plus local edition witnesses checked for this build. "Text bytes" use generated OCR sidecars when an OCR artifact is listed; the pre-OCR extraction size remains in the machine-readable JSON.

Witness Register

Sigla for the next collation stage. OCR extracts are not treated as independent witnesses.

Collation Status

This separates checked witnesses, located-but-not-collated witnesses, OCR-generated collation aids, indirect leads, and background-only legal material.

Collation Workbench

OCR-guided tasks for the next manual apparatus pass. Page blocks identify where to inspect; they are not accepted readings.

Collation Results

Checked outputs from the workbench. These records document witness status, apparatus cues, and boundaries before any public text is promoted.

Expert Panel

A role-based scholarly board for converting this working edition into a comprehensive edition with apparatus criticus and commentary. These are responsibilities, not invented personnel.

Apparatus Starter

Seed entries for the apparatus criticus. These are controlled work items, not a completed critical apparatus.

Commentary Starter

Commentary records are claim-labeled so synthesis cannot outrun the evidence.

Edition Spine

The clauses below are an analytical edition spine. "Lemma" means a short identifying phrase, not a complete restored transcription.

Institutional Reading

Open Question Resolutions

Each previously open question is resolved as a claim policy or retained as explicit pending work. Nothing is silently upgraded to evidence.
