The longest preserved private Latin funerary inscription — a husband's praise-oration for his wife, inscribed in monumental quadrata on at least four tablets totalling some 180+ surviving lines. Once treated as a unique novelistic outlier, the text is here re-presented as the type-specimen of the laudatio funebris genre: a public-facing inscription in private capacity, whose virtue-catalogue, vita-narrative, counterfactual closer and ritual coda all instantiate genre-conventional slots.
