Res Gestae 25.1.11 (the army reaches Maranga and the Persians appear), 25.3.6 (Julian rushes into the fight without his cuirass) and 25.3.23, where the eyewitness gives the end: 'Suddenly the wound in his pierced side opened wide' while he was disputing with the philosophers Maximus and Priscus about the nobility of the soul. The obituary follows at 25.4《业绩录》25.1.11(军至马兰加,波斯人现)、25.3.6(尤利安未擐甲而突入战阵)、25.3.23,亲历者记其终:方与哲人马克西姆斯、普里斯库斯论魂之高贵,“忽而胁间创口大裂”。25.4继以盖棺之论
