Res Gestae 25.5.4 on the hurried election — 'a few hot-headed soldiers (as often happens in an extreme crisis) chose an emperor in the person of Jovian' — and 25.7.9–11 on the terms: Shapur 'required as our ransom five provinces on the far side of the Tigris', and Jovian 'without delay surrendered all that was asked, except that with difficulty he succeeded in bringing it about that Nisibis and Singara should pass into control' of the Persians without their inhabitants《业绩录》25.5.4记仓卒推戴——“数躁急之士(当此危急,常事也)遂立约维安为帝”;25.7.9至11记其条款:沙普尔“索底格里斯河外五省为我赎”,约维安“即许其所求,惟力争而后使尼西比斯与辛加拉”归波斯而居民得出
