Happy Latin: Caesar's Battles is a 28-hour bilingual (English + 中文) first-year Latin course built around Julius Caesar's De Bello Gallico. Each hour pairs an episode from the Gallic war (or an excursus from Tacitus, Suetonius, or Plutarch) with one chapter of Wheelock's Latin (6th edition revised, LaFleur 2005). The course traces fourteen years — from the Helvetii crossing the Arar (58 BC) to Caesar's assassination on the Ides of March (44 BC) — across all 8 books of DBG and a closing capstone drawn from the biographical tradition.
Each hour has two artifacts: an interactive bilingual HTML (passage with EN/中 toggle, scaffolded translation, vocabulary, timed Battle Task with answer key, screening discussion) and a markdown companion (printable / readable, same content in standalone form). Click any hour to expand its summary and find both files. 每课时备有两件资料:一份交互式双语 HTML(原文带 EN/中 切换、英语对照、词汇、限时战斗任务与答案、放映讨论),以及一份Markdown 同伴文件(可印可读,相同内容的独立形式)。
